Dear Chatham Marketplace Owners,
It is with gratitude and warm wishes that we announce General Manager Evan Diamond’s departure from the store. He will be joining his wife full-time in their flower business Deep River Flower Farm after April 30. You’ve likely seen their work in the store and at the Fearrington Farmers Market, and you know how special they are.
We are very grateful for Evan’s leadership that has resulted in improvements in operations and earnings each of the five years he’s been with us.
Grocery Manager Kirsha Dudenhausen has expressed an interest in succeeding Evan as GM, and will serve as Interim General Manager beginning May 1 while the Board goes through the hiring process. Kirsha has been with Chatham Marketplace for almost three years, and has served a leadership role in every department. She lives in Pittsboro with her two children, and is an active member of the community. Kirsha also has a passion for the positive impact that the store has—and can have in the future—in our community.
The Board is currently doing due diligence to ensure that Kirsha meets all requirements and will be supported for success in the future. Evan has been mentoring her, and will be available to mentor Kirsha on a contract basis through the end of 2024.
We will keep you apprised of the progress, and we look forward to seeing you at our annual meeting in May.
Warm regards,
Chatham Marketplace Board of Directors
